Why would you have the lock on the outside?
Well this was illogical when pointed out, but hitherto had gone unnoticed.

So why would an Electronic Security Installer fit a Mag lock on the outside where an intruder could lever it open with just a screwdriver?
Welcome to the world of “I’m just doing what’s on the specification” Engineering. The fault will be in the design, which was most likely rushed. Then the installation engineer just wanted to get the job finished and finally the project manager, or lack of, who realised that to correct this would cost money.
The result is a crime waiting to happen aided by the very electronic security that was meant to stop it!
