Obvious? Well not to everyone.

The picture shows a Air Conditioning engineer happily installing his equipment, unaware that the precisely designed Remote CCTV equipment is about to be made ineffectual.

Ok, maybe I’m being harsh, after all I bet he doesn’t even know what that white thing is (Redwall 100Q infra red detector) on the corner of the unit. Either way, I don’t suppose he cares that much, “where else can I put it”?

That detector protects the rear of the industrial unit so that any person approaching the area “out of hours”  will send a visual alarm to a Remote Monitoring Station, who can then address the intruder via the Speaker located above.

Fail to leave site and the Police will be called. Trouble is, now at best the detector cannot pick up the movement, at worst, the heat from the air conditioning units will send continuous false alarms to the monitoring station, making the system useless.

The solution was easy, just to move the detector.
